On Sunday May 18, 2008 one hundred and seventy five executives from various industries including, entertainment, banking, medical, sports, real estate, politics, and more will interact with two hundred emancipated and foster youth while sailing the waters of Marina Del Rey and the Santa Monica Bays on the iCare Foundation Mentorship Dinner Cruise. Each youth will be strategically matched and placed at a table with an executive that currently works in the field that they have expressed they are most interested in as a career path. All this occurs while dining on fine cuisine and sailing on Fantasy Yacht Club’s most prestigious boat. The cost for becoming a mentor for a day is only $35. For more information call 310.827.1809

Goals And Objectives:

Our goal is to recruit responsible adults that will commit to mentoring youth currently in foster care and youth that have emancipated from the system. We want to encourage and inspire young people to pursue their career and employment dreams.

Engaging youth in conversation about their future stimulates their thinking about career path development and is an informal vocational training opportunity. We hope to create long-term relationships between the youth and mentors that will result in internships and employment opportunities.iCare Foundation has partnered with several mentoring organizations that will provide the nessasary training and support for each person that commits to becoming an onging mentor.

The Benifits of Mentoring:
There is no greater joy than to see a child that you have invested time and resources in flurish and succeed. That is exactly what mentoring is about, investing time, in a child that needs your help. Research has shown that when a child in foster care has a mentor that is willng to spend a few hours a week providing guidance and support, that child's chances for success in life are substantially increased. So get involved! Become a mentor today! Help us achieve our goal!. "Every Child In A Loving Home".
