Celebrity Sports & Entertainment
Camp |
 |
|
On June 16th –
21stThe iCare Foundation will launch it’s
2nd annual Celebrity Sports & Entertainment
Camp. It is a life changing experience
for every youth that passes through our
doors. The fun and learning begins when
forty youth in foster care are transported
to the prestigious and pristine campus of
Pepperdine University in Malibu, California
to spend six days and five nights, receiving
unique style training in Math, English,
Writing, Computers, Music, Physical Fitness
and Basketball.
Celebrity Sports & Entertainment Camp is an introduction into our Top Ten
America After School Educational and Enrichment program where we provide supplemental and interventive educational services.
The camp also includes our Power Tools For Life curriculum, where we present a unique series of
workshops promoting healthy habits, through
diversity sensitivity, elevating
self-esteem, and creative conflict
resolution.
In California most of the you who are infoster care live in the inner city and
never have a chance to experience life
outside of their limited environment. That
is why we chose to expose foster youth to a
broad view of endless possibilities and
encourage them to explore and live their
dreams. Our curriculum is based on our core
values, honesty, hard work, creativity,
trust, and teamwork. The camp will commence
on June 16 - 21, 2008 and last an
entire week. |

| Goals And Objectives: |
The goal of the Camp
is to provide supplemental training in
remedial Math and English and creative
outlets for self-expression. We also stress
the importance of physical fitness and
health through our Daily Workout and Yoga
Classes. We work to bridge the gap between
dreams and success by increasing the
perceived value of education and training.
The serene environment of our camps provide
the youth an opportunity to let down their
guard, express themselves, and gain perhaps
for the first time a sense of peace of mind
in a supportive environment.
At the Camp conclusion, foster youth
participants reflect, talk and write about
their camp experience. iCare Foundation is
able to determine the types of follow-up
intervention needed for participants based
on these communications. |
